A charming symbol of Brittany and traditional Quimper pottery, the Henriot Woman Miniature Plate celebrates the colorful folk-art heritage of this historic region of France.
Handmade and hand-painted in Quimper, Brittany, France, this petite plate features the classic Breton woman dressed in traditional regional costume. Her distinctive dress and colorful hand-painted details make her one of the most recognizable figures associated with traditional Quimper faience.
Measuring just 4.75 inches, the Henriot Woman Miniature Plate is an ideal size for collecting and displaying. Place it in a French country kitchen, china cabinet, bookshelf, or tabletop, or combine it with other miniature Quimper plates to create a colorful collection of authentic French pottery.
Its petite size also makes it a delightful gift for a Quimper collector, Francophile, or anyone with a love of Brittany and traditional French craftsmanship.
Quimper’s remarkable tradition of faience pottery dates back to 1690. For more than three centuries, generations of artisans have preserved the distinctive tradition of creating and decorating pottery by hand in this historic Breton town.
Each plate is individually hand-painted by a skilled artist from start to finish, giving every piece its own character. Subtle variations in the Breton figure, colors and brushwork are part of the beauty of authentic Quimper pottery.
Display the Henriot Woman Miniature Plate individually or pair it with the Henriot Man Miniature Plate to create a classic Breton couple—two of the most enduring figures in traditional Quimper pottery.
