Small in size but filled with French charm, the Camaïeu Pink Miniature Plate is a delightful example of authentic Quimper faience, handmade and hand-painted in Quimper, Brittany, France.
Decorated in the delicate Camaïeu Pink palette, this petite 4.75-inch plate features graceful monochromatic decoration in soft shades of pink. The subtle variations created by the artist’s brushwork give the plate a romantic French country character and make every piece unique.
Perfect for display in a French country kitchen, china cabinet, bookshelf, or tabletop, this miniature plate is a lovely decorative accent on its own. It can also be grouped with other miniature Quimper plates to create a colorful collection of hand-painted French pottery.
Its petite size also makes the Camaïeu Pink Miniature Plate a wonderful gift for a Quimper collector, Francophile, or anyone who loves French pottery.
Quimper’s remarkable tradition of faience pottery dates back to 1690. For more than three centuries, generations of artisans have preserved the art of creating and decorating pottery by hand in this historic Breton town.
Each plate is individually hand-painted, so subtle variations in shades of pink, brushwork and decorative details are part of the beauty of genuine Quimper pottery. No two pieces are exactly alike.
Whether displayed individually, given as a special gift, or added to a collection of miniature Quimper plates, the Camaïeu Pink Miniature Plate brings a little of the color, craftsmanship and charm of Brittany into the home.
