The Porridge Bowl in Lea is a charming piece of authentic Quimper pottery created especially with little ones in mind. Its generous 6.3-inch size is perfect for serving hot or cold cereal, oatmeal, fruit, baby food or other favorite meals and snacks.
The delightful Lea pattern brings a playful French character to this traditional bowl. Hand-painted by skilled Quimper artisans, it makes a wonderful baby gift, christening gift or keepsake that can be enjoyed during childhood and treasured for years to come.
The tradition of Quimper pottery dates to 1690, when faience production began in the historic Locmaria district of Quimper, Brittany. For more than three centuries, Quimper has become celebrated for its distinctive hand-painted pottery and the generations of skilled artisans who have preserved this remarkable French ceramic tradition.
Each piece of Quimper pottery is individually handcrafted and hand-painted in Quimper, giving it the distinctive character for which authentic Quimper faience is known. Subtle variations in color and brushwork are part of the artisan process and ensure that each piece is truly unique.
